"Lees Valley Challenge Mountain Bike Race"

Congratulations to all those that competed in the great event. It was our privilege to host the finish line for the race. The winner did the ride in such a good time that the marshal was not even ready to guide him in the gate. No-one expected that time for that ride. All the riders that finished within the set time, with a rousing welcome to the last two.

The day was good, maybe a little hot for the riders but quite nice for the families who came out to support their riders. We had a mini market which gave some of the supporters’ time to partake of a little retail therapy while the children played on the play equipment and enjoyed the river.

I understand that the riders really appreciated the hot showers at the end of the race. A few people learned that there were some things they would do different next time. Isn’t that the way with most events?
